Why Drink More Water to Be Healthier?
Why drink more water daily or just more water for the rest of your life? One of the biggest and healthiest changes you can make is to drink more water. Many people do not drink enough water and your body needs to have water.
The human body is made up of 70% of water. If you do not replenish the supply that is lost through normal bodily function such as sweating and urination, then the body will become dehydrated. Dehydration will not allow your body to work up to the best of its abilities.
If you exercise, work in an extremely hot environment or if you are ill, you will want to drink more than the recommended amount. You will have to replace the fluids you are losing by sweating and you need to give your body its daily recommended amount of water. Especially if you are sick, drinking water will help thin the mucus in your chest so that you can cough it up and get rid it faster.
We all see what happens to a plant to that lacks water; the same effect can occur to the human body. The body can live up to 3 weeks without any food but only 3 days without water. This fact should impress upon you how important water is to the human body.
Juices are good for you and definitely better than coffee or soda, but juices contain sugars that can add to your calorie intake. It’s also a lot easier to over-indulge on juices – just think how long it takes to work your way through a whole orange versus the time it doesn’t take to slurp a glass of juice. Juices contain vitamins but they do not hydrate your body as well as water can.
There are many reasons to drink more water on a daily basis. You can almost never have too much water in your diet. Make the effort to replace every drink with water. Coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at dinner is OK, as long as your main beverage throughout the day is water.
